Hernan graduated with honours as an architect from the School of Architecture, Design and Urbanism at the University of Buenos Aires in 1996, did postgraduate studies at Harvard University and received an MSc from the Bartlett School of Architecture at University College London in 2003.Prior to founding LightArchitecture in 2022, Hernan was a partner at Foster + Partners where he worked for 14 years leading a diverse range of prestigious projects and variety of building types around the world; from small scale hospitality like Cathay Pacific’s lounges at Hong Kong Airport, to large complex infrastructure developments like Lusail Stadium, the centrepiece for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.In January 2018 he became Head of Architecture, Design and Technology at the Norman Foster Foundation in Madrid, working alongside Norman Foster on the development of sustainable and experimental projects focused primarily on cultural, educational, social and humanitarian purposes.Hernan has taught and been a guest critic at universities in Argentina, the US and the UK and has given lectures and participated in symposia internationally.
